Michael P. Turiello

Mr. Turiello is an experienced trial lawyer who has handled high stakes, complex litigation in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Through nearly 50 jury trials, he has developed a keen ability to effectively communicate the client’s position and persuade a jury to find in the client’s favor. This extensive courtroom experience and understanding of what matters to a jury is of great value in all stages of the litigation process where he is able to quickly identify the most effective and cost-efficient strategy to position the case for success at trial, arbitration or a favorable resolution through settlement.
The trial skills he has developed have allowed Mr. Turiello to take on a broad range of cases in diverse areas of law including product liability, medical malpractice, breach of contract, commercial litigation, bad faith, fraud, trademark infringement, mass tort, negligent recall, construction, and the Flammable Fabrics Act. At trial, he represented clients ranging from small business owners and physicians to the maker of TY® Beanie Babies in a trademark infringement case, and the former president of the New York Stock Exchange in a $300 million fraud case.
Mr. Turiello also has experience managing multidistrict litigation nationally. He coordinated the defense of a distributor in the in Re Stand ‘n Seal multidistrict litigation, defending 200+ claims from 34 states and successfully defending the client at trial in Arizona state court and the Northern District of Arizona. After resolving all underlying claims, he was also part of the team that obtained an award of more than $30 million in defense and indemnity costs against one of the manufacturers of Stand ‘n Seal.
Mr. Turiello also regularly utilizes the skills developed through his trial experience outside of the litigation arena to counsel clients on contractual issues, regulatory compliance and the handling of product recalls assisting in protecting the client’s interests and limiting liability.
